Industry Uses
The product is an organic fatty acid polymer with molecular weight from 400 to 800, freely soluble in water. It has high chemical and thermal stability, and its decomposition temperature is above 662°F (350°C). Its degradation products are not harmful to the environment.
Hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride is very effective as a scale and corrosion inhibitor for industrial cooling water systems. It has outstanding performance of high temperature resistance (347F or 175℃). The product has good scale inhibition effect on carbonate and phosphate. The time duration of scale inhibition can reach 100 hours and the rate of scale inhibition can reach 98%. It can be used in recirculating cooling water systems, water treatment in low-pressure boilers, oilfield water injection systems, crude oil dehydration, etc. It can effectively inhibit the scale growth and strip the old scale. It can also be used as rinse agent in textile factory to reduce the ash content in textiles.

Usage
HPMA is used for scale prevention and corrosion deceleration in low-pressure boilers, flash distillation plants in seawater desalination and other systems. The dosage is generally from 2 to 15mg/L. When it is mixed with zinc salt (1 to 2mg/l) , it can effectively prevent the corrosion of carbon steel.
